School Uniform Guidelines

To maintain a unified and respectful school appearance, the following uniform options are permitted:

  • School blouse or sweater with blue, navy, or black jeans (not torn)
  • School blouse or sweater with loose navy or black sweatpants
  • Full sports uniform, even if there is no scheduled P.E. session
  • School jacket or sports jacket

Any clothing not mentioned above is not permitted.

We appreciate your cooperation in upholding the school’s dress code.

Absence and Attendance Policy

1. Unjustified Absence:

– Any absence without a valid medical report or a phone call from the parent/guardian before 11:00 a.m. will be considered unjustified.
– Repeated unjustified absences (5 days or more) will result in a deduction of 5 behavior marks.
– Parents are required to notify the school on the same day of the absence, before 11:00 a.m.

2. Late Arrival:

– All students must arrive at school by 7:50 a.m. at the latest.
– Late arrivals without a valid excuse will lead to a deduction of 5 behavior marks.

3. Travel during the School Year:

– Traveling during school days is strictly discouraged and only permitted in cases of emergency or exceptional circumstances, with prior approval from the administration.
– Unauthorized travel may result in disciplinary action, including the possibility of expulsion.

Important Note:

– Students who are absent during exams will not be granted makeup exams. Instead, their class work and overall performance may be used to determine their grade.

Outer Appearance Guidelines

To maintain a respectful and appropriate learning environment, students are expected to follow these appearance standards:

  • Students must refrain from wearing noticeable jewelry or accessories that are not necessary on school premises.
  • On special occasions when students are allowed to wear non-uniform clothing, parents are kindly asked to ensure outfits are suitable for the school setting. Inappropriate clothing — such as short shorts, short dresses, or crop tops — is not allowed, regardless of the student’s age.
  • Boys (Grades 1–12) must keep their hair away from their faces, foreheads, and eyes. Long hair must be tied.
Girls (Grades 1–12) must tie their hair up at least in a half ponytail, keeping it away from the eyes and forehead.
  • Failure to comply will result in a warning. Repeated noncompliance may lead to a deduction in behavior marks.
  • Nails should be kept short. Only neutral or clear nail polish is allowed.
Bright-colored nail polish and makeup are strictly prohibited.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a neat, respectful, and distraction-free environment.

Behavior Correction Policy

To maintain a respectful and disciplined school environment, Al Manar Modern School follows a structured approach to behavioral correction. The following procedures will be applied progressively in case of student violations:

1. Verbal Warning:
– Issued by the teacher or floor supervisor for minor infractions.

2. First Verbal Warning (Documented):
– The student is informed of the violation.
– A printed warning is signed by the floor supervisor and shared with the principal.
– A copy is sent to the parent via the eSchool Connect/messages app.
– Filed in the student’s record.

3. First Written Warning:
– The student is informed of the continued violation.
– A written warning is signed by the student, floor supervisor, and principal.
– A copy is sent to the parent and stored in the written warnings file.

4. Second Written Warning:
– Issued after a third violation.
– Handled and signed by the floor supervisor, with the principal informed.
– Sent to parents and added to the student’s warning file.

5. Third Written Warning – Supplementary Study System:
– The student must attend a guided session in the library.
– They will complete missed assignments and receive behavior counseling.
– This step aims to support academic and behavioral improvement.

6. Suspension:
– If violations continue, a temporary suspension (1 to several days) may be imposed.
– Duration is based on the nature and severity of misconduct.

7. Fourth Written Warning – Expulsion:
– In cases of repeated violations or serious misconduct, expulsion may be considered.
– Final decision rests with the school principal after careful review.

Important Note:

In the event of an intentional fight or physical assault within school premises, the student will be immediately suspended for 1 to 15 days without prior warnings.
